My hometown-Anji is a very wonderful place to visit and even a better place to live. When you arrive in Anji, your spirits are naturally lifted. One look around at the peaceful mountains and you can’t help it! Covered by velvety bamboo always singing in the wind. The mountains hold us in their arms. It’s a wonderful feeling!
But every time I go to a big city, there will always be big noise, busy traffic and so many people crowding in the street. No mountains can be seen; all around us are high buildings and hundreds of thousands of cars. The dirty air and big noise from cars can always make me feel sick! No blue skies or bird songs, pollution hides the sun from us. It’s too terrible for me to stay any longer! The environment is deeply polluted. And I’m afraid that the industry is going to destroy the city.
Of course, we don’t want our hometown to be like that. So the local government is making plans to keep the environment healthy. But we don’t have to wait for the government to tell us what to do; we can find a way to help by ourselves.
We can go to plant trees in spring, so the whole town’s going to be much greener. We can collect waste batteries, so they won’t pollute our environment. We can take care of wild animals, so the world’s going to be full of joys. We can also keep the public place clean and nice by not throwing rubbish about. And the most important thing is that we can propagate the importance of protecting our environment to everyone. So there will be more people caring for the nature. We can even give our advice to the government. I’m sure they will be glad to see how much we students care about our hometown.
Maybe you’ll think that we are just so simple and ordinary kids that are still studying at school. We are not super-heroes or genius. Isn’t it too big for us to take care of the environment? How are we supposed to handle this? But, whatever you think, you have to believe that a single person can make a difference. The environment is an important issue that we shouldn’t leave to others. I believe, if everyone can do something—even a very small thing, our hometown is sure to be much more beautiful!
The world is counting on us!
So, let’s do it from now, do it from the bottom of our hearts!
